Goa, if you don’t know already, is where my wife is from.
We reached on a Saturday afternoon, and that night we went out to look at all the Narkasuras.
Narkasur is a demon who was killed by Krishna and Satyabhama. It’s weird that the first thing that comes to mind when talking about an asura is how he was killed, but, whatever.
So we went out and looked at a bunch of Narkasuras, spotting almost 62 of them across Madgaon and Fatorda. It was almost midnight by the time we got home, and we slept like logs.
We also visited some old temple, went to some beaches (of course), visited some arcade games, and watched a Marathi movie (film starring and introduced by Mahesh Manjrekar) hosted by the IFFI (International Film Festival of India). I don’t speak the language, but understand it when people speak it. I suppose I should learn the language since I’m halfway there anyway.
I’d say this was my most eventful trip to Goa, in spite of this being a short trip. Most of my other trips usually span an entire month.
I don’t know if I enjoy going to Goa, it being my wife’s house and all, but this trip wasn’t terribly bad.
